Cedar Place - Self Care Unit

In 1988, at a public meeting, it was decided that the proposed allocation of (18) Hostel beds, by the Federal Government, be taken up and that funds previously held by the Macleay Senior Citizens Homes Committee be directed to funding the establishment of a Nursing Home, however, government policy had moved away from Nursing Home care to home based and Hostel care.

An 18 bed Hostel was built in 1991. With the addition of six beds in 1999, a further 10 beds in 2002, 20 high care (Nursing Home) beds in 2005 and 2006 another 12 places. Cedar Place Aged Care Facility now has 41 low care and 25 high care Government funded beds and 6 self care units.
